That post was just the beginning of a year of hell. She continued on about the wash issue and then when the winter started and we could not hang our wash out she started about how noisy we are when we walk up and down the stairs and how loud we slam our door. We just cannot win. She literally ran after us a few days ago (yelling at us) when we were going for a walk with our dog. She wanted to know if we were moving because she heard me running up and down the stairs 10 times. I told her we could not do a thing for her... and Johan told her to seek some psychiatric help. It really is not funny at all, and it is people like her who end up buying guns and shooting people as they have no self control and want everyone else to change their ways to suit them. I cannot wait to move out of here.... lol too funny Adrian!

If both companies have to pay their workers the same but company X has to pay the extra cost of freight it cannot compete and the product will be imported from ontario. hence the jobs for the newfoundlanders to make the product are lost. if newfoundland has a lower minimum wage maybe it will make it easier for the company to compete and 'win' back the jobs P.S. you might say... but the ontairo company has to pay the cost of shipping the finished product to newfoundland. true but after hardwood products are milled they are much lighter than the raw materials used. u get my point just thought of a great example.

I am from newfoundland (where we are loosing population to alberta on a daily basis) but I dont think that all the wealth and earnings should be robbed from alberta and sprinkled across the country. albertans have invested in their infrastructure and deserve to reap the rewards. What i do think should be done is the federal government should treat all provinces fairly. just because newfoundland is small and out of the way they dont make any effort to make what natural resources we have create jobs IN newfoundland. like the nickle, oil, and the fish... yes the fish... if newfoundland belonged to the united states they would have put an end to foreign overfishing EONS ago, canada is afraid to stick their neck out for newfoundland. anyway... regards to minimum wage, i can understand it being lower in some provices... newfoundland companies simply cannot afford to pay wages as high as other provinces do. minimum wage has both positive and negative effects for employers and employees and I think thats why it is rated epending on what each province can handle.
