Pear Treas in Bloom

treas

For the first time in thirty year buds on pear treas are in bloom in the southern provinces of Holland. 15% of the buds are in bloom according to Ad Slabbekoorn, of the land and garden organization ZLTO. These blooms would not live through a period of frost. The last time this early bloom occurred was in January of 1976.

This does not need to affect the crop and Mr. Slabbekoorn foresees no problems.

The pear treas normally go into bloom the end of April.(Rtl)

I could not believe the buds on treas and shrubs in Canada while I was there. I come back to Holland to find the same thing going on here. This is very unusual and makes me feel like I am in the wrong season. šŸ˜‰
