Fox Fur Scandal

Maria van der Hoeven

Our Minister, Maria van der Hoeven made a big mistake in judgment when she wore a suit with a fox fur collar on the day the House of Representatives were sworn in by our Queen.

The fox fur was an extra touchy subject because in 1995 it was decided that fox fur breading is being banned due to the horrendous conditions for the foxes. The ban will take place in 2008.

Van der Hoeven received over 7000 protest mails.

In response to the letter from the Party for the Animals, van der Hoeven made her excuses for wearing the fox fur collar.

I really could not believe this to be true and was sure it was a ‘fake’. I should have know better. šŸ˜‰

Stella McCartney narrated an anti fur film where it is clear how the making of fox fur works. The film can be watched HERE. I cannot bring it upon myself to watch the film as I will lay awake at night from distress.
